How to Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited

Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited on web, iPhone, or Android. Includes the difference between Prime Music, Music Unlimited, and what you lose when you cancel.

Amazon Music Unlimited is a separate paid tier above the basic Prime Music that comes with Amazon Prime. A lot of people don't realise they're paying for it — either because it was bundled at sign-up or because a free trial converted. Here's how to cancel and what to check before you do.

1

Prime Music vs Music Unlimited: What You Actually Pay For

Amazon Prime includes Prime Music, which gives access to about 2 million songs with shuffle-only playback and limited skips. Amazon Music Unlimited is a separate paid subscription ($10.99/month or $9.99/month for Prime members) that unlocks 100+ million songs, on-demand playback, offline downloads, and higher audio quality. If you signed up for a free trial of Music Unlimited and forgot to cancel, you're now paying for a tier on top of Prime. Check your Amazon account under "Memberships & Subscriptions" to see if Music Unlimited appears as a separate charge.

How to Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited

Go to amazon.com and sign in. Click your account name at the top and go to "Account". Scroll down and click "Memberships & Subscriptions", then find "Amazon Music Unlimited". Click "Cancel subscription" and confirm. Alternatively, go directly to music.amazon.com, click your profile icon, then "Settings" → "Amazon Music Unlimited" → "Cancel subscription". Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You'll still have access to Prime Music (the included tier) as long as you have Amazon Prime.

3

Cancelling Amazon Music Through Apple or Google

If you subscribed to Amazon Music through the iOS App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through those platforms rather than Amazon directly. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Amazon Music → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Amazon Music → Cancel. If you subscribed directly through Amazon's website, the App Store and Play Store won't show the subscription.

4

What Happens to Your Music After Cancelling

Offline downloads are deleted when Music Unlimited ends. Your playlists and saved albums stay in your library but tracks become unplayable — you see them but can't listen. If any of those songs are also available on Prime Music, they remain playable. Your station history and listening preferences are preserved if you resubscribe later. If you mainly used Amazon Music for a specific feature like lossless audio or podcast listening, consider whether Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music covers the same need at the same price or lower.
